Admission to Founders College is a competitive process. We seek students who are intellectually active, who want to learn the meaning and consequences of important ideas, and who are committed to improving their individual thinking and writing abilities. We select each student according to the candidate’s record of academic achievement and aptitude, the strength of the candidate’s high school program, and personal recommendations of the candidate’s teachers or counselors. Each candidate is evaluated individually, and a great deal of emphasis is placed on accepting those students who we think will profit the most from the unique education that we offer. Founders College admits students solely on the basis of their academic record and individual ability. Candidates are admitted regardless of any of the following characteristics: sex or sexual orientation, race, religion, economic status, national or ethnic background, or disability.
Note: Founders College does not evaluate standardized test scores (SAT, ACT, etc.) in the admissions process.
To be admitted to Founders College, students must have met the following basic requirements:
All students must submit the following items:
The personal essay should be no longer than 500 words. It should identify three personal traits that you most admire about yourself, and it should include a thoughtful explanation about why you want to attend Founders College.
All students applying for admission prior to November 15, 2006 will have their application fee waived. After November 15, a fee may be required with their application.
An optional interview may be scheduled for students who visit the campus in the fall semester in the year before they seek admission. To arrange for an interview, please contact the Office of Admissions.
Founders College has a standard timetable for admissions that applies to all students.

Founders College uses a rolling admission process. What that means is you will receive an admission decision within 4-6 weeks after your application is complete, starting in December of each year. Candidates applying for fall admission are encouraged to complete and mail their application as soon as possible to allow adequate time for the review and interview. Candidates for the spring semester should submit their application by November 15th, if possible. |
