The undergraduate experience at many colleges is more like being trapped in a puzzle than getting a good education. Huge, impersonal classes, often taught by graduate students, have become the norm. It is difficult to interact with professors who would rather be doing research and writing. The majority of professors receive little, if any, training in effective teaching methodology.
Your experience at Founders will be very different. Highly interactive and intellectually stimulating classes are led, not by untrained teaching assistants or grad students, but by experienced professors who are expert teachers and who have undergone and continually receive specialized training and supervision. You will be engaged and inspired to think more than you have ever been before.
At Founders, the whole is far greater than the sum of the parts. Learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door. You’ll also be exposed to an intellectually stimulating, thought-provoking life outside the classroom; an atmosphere that enriches and strengthens your academic work.
We place great emphasis on developing professional life skills such as the ability to think independently and communicate clearly. These skills are so important that every paper is given two grades: one for content and another for style. This reflects our belief that mastery of course content is not sufficient by itself – you must be able to explain your ideas as well. These critical abilities will serve you well for the rest of your life and will make a real difference in your success.
